ABOUT ME
Having qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1985 from Normanby College School of Physiotherapy attached to Kings College Hospital I completed my basic rotational experience and subsequently decided to specialise in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. I have furthered my academic study with a Open University Degree initially and undertaking further training in Acupuncture. I then became one of the first physiotherapists in the country to train as a non-medical prescriber initially in 2006 as a supplementary prescriber and then in 2014 converting to an independent prescriber. I have developed an interest in Research being a member and Chair of a local Research Ethics Committee for 8 years, completing my Masters Degree in Applied Professional Research in 2009. Having recently begun a new career within the University sector, I have taken the next step and aim to conduct research into non medical prescribing and what is happening within physiotherapy as a result.
